Peripheral Similarities Between Islam And Christianity
People,
seems even (many) Christians, get caught up on a handful of the evident or
apparent Peripheral Similarities between Islam and Christianity:
Allah
just means God
Offspring
of Abraham
Conquest
in the OT (TaNaKh)
Conquest
in the Qur'an
Jesus
in the Bible
Jesus
(Isa, Arabic for Jesus) in the Qur'an
Mary,
the mother of Jesus, in the Bible
Mary,
the mother of Jesus, in the Qur'an
Angels
in the Bible
Angels
in the Qur'an
Moses,
Aaron and Merriam in the Bible
Moses,
Aaron and Merriam in the Qur'an
Etc.,
and I could go on with many, many more peripheral (alleged) similarities, but
they ignore the one vital, key point. The Character and even Characteristics of the
respective deity(ies)...
In
fact, I spoke with one fellow recently, a professing christian, a very
liberal-professing-christian, who openly stated the following - 'homosexuality
is cool', 'Islam is cool', 'Hinduism is cool' - who also very aggressively by
way of his commentary stated that _ “we (Christians) ought not look at the
"character" or "characteristics" of the allaah of the
Qur'an vs the Allah (Arabic for G-d) of the Bible, but instead, focus solely on
the (superficial) similarities noted above...
There
is only one G-d, there is only one Jesus who is G-d. Do no Christian churches (as denominational
collectives) in the 21st century recognize that the allaah of Islam, is NOT the
G-d (Jesus the Christ) of the Christian?
The two (2) are not the same. The allaah (gawd) of Islam, says very plainly that she has no son, and in fact proclaims it impossible for her to have a son. - Sura 2:116, “Who says ‘Allah has begotten a Son’?” Sura 72:3 “ ... has taken no wife, nor has He begotten any children.” See also “The Qur'an Attacks ... 5:17, and the Father very clearly called Jesus “His Son” - Matthew 3:17
If one honestly believes that the gawdess of Islam, allaah, and the G-d of the Christian, Allah (Arabic for G-d), are the same deity, then one should pause and give some serious reflection on the implications of one’s beliefs / claims. For to claim that the two are one, in view of Sura's 2:116 & 72:3, and Mathew 3:17 & John 5:17, is to profess - 'faith in a fickle, wholly unstable and clearly very confused deity'.

NO peace” and yet, “Know Jesus, KNOW peace”
How
does one get to “know” Jesus? Simple,
invite Him into your heart, as Jesus says: “Here I am! I stand at the door and
knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with
him, and he with me.” [Revelation
3:20 NIV] How can be assured that this Jesus stuff
means anything? Well because the Bible
tells us so, as the Apostle Paul wrote:
“If
you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that
God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart
that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess
your faith and are saved.” [Romans
10:9-10 NIV]
And
for those of you who say to me, I can’t be bothered reading the Bible, “it’s
confusing” or “it’s a waste of my time”, may I draw your attention to what the
Bible says about wisdom: “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and
knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” [Proverbs 9:10 NIV]

John
3:16 says: “For God so loved the world
that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not
perish but have eternal life.”
And
John 14:6 says: “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No
one comes to the Father except through me.”
