PACIFISM

Pacifism

Pacifism “a way of life” or The Way, “The ONLY Way” of life, for a Christian?

Pacifist, by way of synonyms - appeasing, conciliatory, placatory & comforting

Pacifism, by way of synonyms - Non-violence, Passivity, Nonaggression & Civil disobedience

Pacifist – Dictionary,
noun
a person who believes that war and violence are unjustifiable.

Pacifism – Dictionary,
noun
opposition to war, militarism, or violence, an attitude or policy of nonresistance

Someone is sexually abusing your 3-year-old, 5-year-old and 8-year-old children.  I am told that Shalom {Hebrew ( שלום ) peace} Sozo (Greek σῴζω to save, keep safe, or rescue) is the perfect example of G-d’s (Christ’s) way of affecting His efforts to save, keep safe, or rescue His people, including the afore noted 3-year-old, 5-year-old and 8-year-old children.  And that “Shalom Sozo” is the very core example of pacifism.

I do not generally subscribe to the ideas that anecdotal analogies serve as proof for any given cause, but I do believe that anecdotes can be useful is emphasizing a point.  Also, it has been stated many times, many ways that A) G-d does not change (Hebrews 13:8) and that B ) if G-d repeats something, for example if a theme in the Biblical texts is repeated, two, three four five or more times, it is likely pretty substantive and serious. Therefore I submit to you that:

i) - According to Genesis Chapters Six, Seven and Eight, G-d’s own actions were the antitheses of pacifism in meting out judgement on, and rescuing the righteous from, wicked mankind,

ii) – According to Exodus Chapters One through Forty, G-d’s own actions were the antitheses of pacifism in meting out judgement on, and rescuing the righteous from, the wicked oppressors of His people,

iii) – According to Jeremiah 48:35-36, G-d’s own actions, in dealing with the Moabites, were the antitheses of pacifism in meting out judgement on, and rescuing the righteous from, the wicked oppressors of His people,

iv) – In the New Testament we read – “For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.” – Romans 1:17

v) According to Acts Chapter Five, we read of two people who, though they were directly causing no harm to other people, G-d’s wrath was sorely meted out on Ananias and Sapphira.  Their crime?  Dishonesty…  And hereto it would appear that G-d’s own actions were the antitheses of pacifism in meting out judgement on, and rescuing the righteous from, the wicked oppressors (dishonest thieves) towards Him, and His people,

vi) Jesus Himself encountered numerous soldiers during His tenure during the brief three and a half years of His First Coming, here on Earth.  Soldiers are the epitome of killing machines, sworn by oath to expend their very lives in the defense of their sovereign and land.  Not once, not that I can see, did Jesus ever tell any one of the myriad soldiers He encountered – “STOP doing what Soldiers do, and become a pacifist”.  NOT ONCE.

If you are of the mindset that G-d has called you, personally and individually, to be a pacifist, I applaud you and say – “G-d Bless you man!  Be the best, most passionate pacifist you can.  Be all that G-d has called you to be.  Do so with enthusiasm, and boldness!”  But, if you are of the mindset that pacifism is not only The Way, but somehow “The ONLY Way” of life, for a Christian, please note that I for one very firmly believe that G-d places His face squarely against yours.  And I believe that G-d’s Holy Word, the Bible, supports and even presents my view that G-d places His face squarely against yours, if… if you teach, preach, that pacifism is “The ONLY Way” of life, for a Christian.

What Jesus did do, is to tell folks to “Follow Me”.

“No Jesus, NO peace” and yet, “Know Jesus, KNOW peace”

How does one get to “know” Jesus?  Simple, invite Him into your heart, as Jesus says: “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.” [Revelation 3:20 NIV]  How can be assured that this Jesus stuff means anything?  Well because the Bible tells us so, as the Apostle Paul wrote:

“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” [Romans 10:9-10 NIV]

And for those of you who say to me, I can’t be bothered reading the Bible, “it’s confusing” or “it’s a waste of my time”, may I draw your attention to what the Bible says about wisdom: “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” [Proverbs 9:10 NIV]

If nothing else, PLEASE read two chapters from the Bible – (don’t own one, sorry NO excuse, if you’re reading this, you can access this: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John%203:16&version=NIV) John 3 and John 14!

John 3:16 says: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

And John 14:6 says: “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Well that’s it, that’s Da Bauz’s Take on, “Pacifism” – this 28th, day of August 2017 © 2017, All Rights Reserved. wr (Da Bauz, Christian Zionist “creationist” too!)
