Hollywood liberties and APFM’s "Noah"

#RAD Ha, ya just gotta love Hollywood liberties...

In the movie "Noah", co-written by Darren Aronofsky & Ari Handel, also directed by Darren Aronofsky, and produced by Darren Aronofsky (A), Scott Franklin (F), Mary Parent (P) and Arnon Milchan (M), AFPM, Cain's descendants are depicted as being many indeed and also very wicked. Whereas Seth's are depicted as quasi G-d fearing, but very, very few. Anyone who has ever watched a film adaptation from any form of written text, novel, play, history knows and presumably understands, that some liberties may very well be necessitated, while others may be both blatant and flagrant dishonesty.

Honestly, in the case of APFM’s "Noah" and in view of Aronofsky's bragging that - his movie is “the least biblical biblical film ever made,” - it should come as zero surprise that AFPM's production of "Noah" bears about as much resemblance to the Biblical texts as do the stories of Rudolph, the Tooth Fairy and the Satanic bible, resemble Biblical texts. With that said, I will concede that I would still recommend at least some watch this. Why might I suggest that, given that even Aronofsky said his movie is “the least biblical biblical film ever made,”? The answer is two fold:

First - The best way to recognize if something is right, true or correct, is to know the truth. In the case of AFPM's "Noah", those who know the Biblical texts, already know what a fallacy AFPM's rendition is, yet by watching it, one can know what the world is being taught by means of things like AFPM's, and other's movies also.

Second - The other reason I would suggest watching it might seem a tad strange but, it relates to challenging one's self to re-evaluate what one believes (or thinks one believes), and why, with respect to the Biblical texts... In other words, go back read what the Bible actually says about the flood of Noah's day and the people therein, for yourself. Forgetting what your Sunday School, church, parents of even a Pastor (Rabbi, Priest, Reverend) or whomever told you the Biblical texts say, and read for yourselves what the Bible actually says! Genesis Chapters Six through essentially Eight, with some peripheral reference to the great flood and Noah and his descendants in Chapters 9 & 10. And some of the ground work for Noah's ancestors and the wickedness of both the descendants of Cain and also Seth being found in Chapters 4 & 5.

So really we have two chapters (4 & 5) that give us some background by way of some 58 verses encompassing c. ~ 1,300 words, and we have the epilogue, also in two chapters (9 & 10), across some 60 verses and also with c. ~ 1,300 words... Leaving chapters 6, 7 & 8 with some 68 verses and utilizing just c. ~ 1,900 words to tell us Biblically what AFPM's "Noah" 139 minute (two hours, 19 minute) long movie tries to portray. The screenplay alone required over 130 pages of text, as a loose rule-of-thumb, I am told, is that one page with a Courier font size of 12 (roughly 630 words per page) is needed for each one minute of screen time. So for a 139-minute film, one needs c. ~ some 88,000 words. Contrast this with the c. ~ six pages, and c. ~ 1,900 words found in Genesis 6, 7 and 8, and artistic liberties are to be expected!

Unless of course you want to pay $15.00 (per person) for the movie, plus another $25.00 for a couple of sodas, popcorn and (if you're lucky) a candy-bar, all to watch a six-minute movie, one has to expect and accept some artistic licence.

Now back to, AFPM's "Noah"...

Ultimately it would be, by far, much easier and much, much less wordy, to simply state that the only two things in the entire APFM depiction of Noah that are even remotely close to being Biblically sound:

i) - the Ark itself is but a box, a barge if you will; and

ii) - Noah gets drunk, naked, and must be covered by a blanket

This movie has all the trimmings of a Sanger styled PP rally. It is, worse than Avatar, which although also was a very poorly veiled environmentalists wet dream, at least it did not pretend to represent a factual piece of human history. Although, in view of Aronofsky's admitted - "most unbiblical representation of a biblical tale ever told" [paraphrased] - one cannot be either surprised, nor mislead into thinking this movie was intended to be, in any way a factual representation of anything. And I own it on Blue-Ray...

Departures from Scripture, to name but a few:

I) - The "watchers", Rock People - 'sons of god' - turned against the "creator" only to be later turned back to the "creator"... notwithstanding the absolute absurdity of these 'rock people', there are other many other issues with them also...

II) - The angelic 'son's of god' being depicted as being pro-G-d (Christ) and tormented by the 'son's of Cain, is indeed beyond 'a reach' and a clear non-biblical view...

III) - To depict them as defenders of the "creator" is astoundingly silly...

IV) - And to suggest that the 'watchers' learned to fear man... *sigh*

V) - Suggesting the 'watchers' loved mankind, even Adam... quite the joke really.

VI) - Methuselah being depicted as a sort of psychic or mystic, putting Shem to sleep with a touch, and putting Noah into a trance with a hallucinogenic tea, giving him a vision of a watery grave... may make for a good, no make that a GREAT, Hollywood tale, but it's just not in the Bible. It is also not something, a psychic phenomenon and hallucinogenic induced state, that G-d (Christ) would use to convey His Will and Word, based upon what Scripture says elsewhere...

VII) - The idea of Noah and other descendants of Seth being so very, very few... Shem being "hooked up with" his adopted step-sister, and Ham and Japheth having no one to take as mates... not supported by the Biblical texts....

VIII) - Even the idea that the Earth had, itself, become a barren wasteland, causing famine before Noah was told to build the Ark, is just not biblically founded...

IX) - It is said of the movie that it represents humankind rapaciously living off of, and really bastardizing the gawdess, mother earth...

X) - Noah is depicted as lamenting the evil humans, and even appears to be more bent on having 'faith in' the fallen-angel rock-gawdz, than is he depicted as being devoted to or even knowing about G-d, let alone *knowing* G-d...

XI) - "Love is all you need", as Noah's wife pleads with Noah's grandfather Methuselah to help make Noah understand that her boys are generally 'good boys' with her - "...all they (Noah's sons need) desire is (to be) love(d), isn't that all (that is needed for) their heart's need to be good..." - "Love is all you need"

XII) - APFM's "Noah", depicts Noah as a psychopath whose passion for his gawdess, mother earth, is only surpassed by his devilish desire to see the obliteration of all of humankind...

XIII) - Biblically speaking, the descriptions of descendants of Cain (Gen. 4), are interestingly absent the common phrase used in Gen. 5 for the descendants of Seth - "other sons and daughters" - making the portrayed followers of Tubal-cain (many) and the descendants of Seth, Methuselah, Noah etc., (scarce, if not virtually none existent) laughable... to say the least...

XIV) - The very last verse of Genesis 5 tells us that when Noah was 500 years old, he had three sons, Shem, Japheth and Ham. We read in Genesis 7 verse 6 that Noah was 600 years old when the flood began. And in Gen. 8, verse 13 we see that Noah was in his 601st year, when the flood waters began to recede enough to see dry land. The flood lasted c.~ one year, plus / minus a week or so, meaning that Noah was at least 599 years old when the Ark was being completed, before flood began... now consider AFPM's "Noah" and the youthful 20 & 30 ish year-old looking Shem and Ham, and the pre-teen / teenager Japheth... and now refer back to that final verse of Genesis five!

Moving on...

XV) - The “Zohar", the environmentalist's bane, the mining of which is akin to the practice of fracking today, in Noah's day...

XVI) - In AFPM's "Noah", Noah even manages to bastardize the Creation story, switching events around between days two, three, and four to suit the tales and agendas of the God-hating atheistic darwinian evolutionists...

XVII) - Air, water, earth, plant, fish, bird, and beast. Yep, all the trimmings of a Sanger styled PP rally... screw humankind, long live the gawdess of the animals.

XIII) - Tubal-cain, as a stow-away on the Ark, telling Ham about G-d's goodness, meanwhile Noah is plotting the demise of humankind altogether...

XIX) - Noah, in APFM's "Noah" is indeed depicted as a homicidal psychopathic maniacal and deranged lunatic... to say that he resembles nothing of the Biblical Noah, son-of-Lamech, and grandson of Methuselah, is indeed a gross understatement.

Not to just completely cop out on commenting on the movie's 'departures from Scripture', but it would truly be easier to list the Biblical accuracies, as I can very sincerely say this.

There are only three things, (well actually really two, and more on that after I list the three) in this movie which are Biblically sound:

A) - the whole Earth was flooded, and thereby killing all who were not on the Ark*

B) - the Ark itself is but a box, a very big barge if you will, not a ship; and

C) - Noah gets drunk, while naked, and must be covered by a blanket. And according to the Bible, it was his sons, Shem and Japheth who covered dad, NOT Shem and his wife...

* According to Scripture, ALL of mankind was wiped out in that great flood, there were no other inhabitants, none anywhere, for Ham to go off and join up with to carry on the human race. There was Ham and his wife, who fathered the people's of Canaan. In the movie, Ham is depicted as first to be without a spouse, and second to set off on him own to explore 'strange new lands'.

Ergo, suffice it to say again - It is by far much easier, and much, much less wordy, to simply state that the only two things in the entire APFM depiction of Noah that are Biblically sound are:

i) - the Ark itself is but a box, a barge if you will; and

ii) - Noah gets drunk, naked, and must be covered by a blanket

139 minutes of wannabe blockbuster imagery and some action sequences, to tell a story that even as a slow reader, such as I, could read start to finish in 20 to 25 minutes? If you do not believe me, here look up Genesis Chapters Four through Ten, and review them is several different renderings, of the linguistic variety of your choosing. [¹]

“No Jesus, NO peace” and yet, “Know Jesus, KNOW peace”

How does one get to “know” Jesus? Simple, invite Him into your heart, as Jesus says: “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.” [Revelation 3:20 NIV] How can we be assured that this Jesus stuff means anything? Well because the Bible tells us so, as the Apostle Paul wrote:

“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” [Romans 10:9-10 NIV]

And for those of you who say to me, I can’t be bothered reading the Bible, “it’s confusing” or “it’s a waste of my time”, may I draw your attention to what the Bible says about wisdom: “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” [Proverbs 9:10 NIV]

It truly is amazing... The alleged vastness is clearly beyond comprehension.

209 Seconds That Will Make You Question Your Entire Existence,

That is not to suggest I think it is not vast, merely highlighting that man's calculated distances, and sizes for many of the items depicted in in this video, a video that highlights just how infinitesimally tiny our Earth is compared the vastness of the entire "known" (believed to be known) universe, is almost exclusively done from observations made from Earth, or relatively near to Earth.

The distance between the Earth and our moon, 226,000 miles, enough that we could fit the other seven planets of our solar system in the space in between - c. ~ 25 seconds in

That six Earth's would fit into the cross-section of Saturn's Rings - c. ~ 40 seconds in

Now, the shots of Earth from the moon, c. ~ 52 seconds in, and from Mars c. ~ 60 seconds in, may in fact be from space-craft launched from Earth, peering back at our wee blue planet... EVEN

At about the c. ~ 64 second mark read that - "That insignificant little do there, that's Earth. From around 4 billion (4,000,000,000) miles away" - image gathered on February 14, 1990, by the Voyager 1 space probe, launched on September 5, 1977 by NASA's Kennedy Space Center

And then we get into the truly remarkable... Arcturus, which is said to be - "16,000 times larger in volume than our own sun." - is also said to be 36.7 light-years (5,879,000,000,000 or 5.8 trillion miles) from us... c. ~ 82 seconds in

From here we move on to Alpha Scorpii, which is said to be - "690,000,000 times larger in volume than our own sun." - is also said to be about 145 parsecs or 470 light years (2,763,000,000,000,000 or c. ~ 2.8 quadrillion miles) from us...... c. ~ 86 seconds in

Next we have VY Canis Majoris, which is said to be - "2.9 billion (2,900,000,000) times larger in volume than our own sun." - is also said to be about 1.2 kiloparsecs or 4,000 light-years (22,927,000,000,000,000 or c. ~ 22.9 quadrillion miles) from us... c. ~ 90 seconds in

And so on... at only a minute and a half into a 3 1/2 minute video, we are into postulated #'s that are so far past staggeringly incomprehensible that it is also quite impossible to describe.

For example, for those who think they can relate to trillions and quadrillions in terms of numbers, consider this:

Each of us alive experiences One Million seconds, roughly every c. ~11.5 days, BUT most of us will only see a tad more than Two Billion seconds, as One Billion seconds takes c. ~ 32 years (31 years eight months) To this day, globally the average life expectancy is 66 years six months. So the average person will experience c. ~ 2.1 billion seconds (+/- 100 million seconds) in their entire life times. Another way to look at this is that over the span of that ~ 2.1 billion seconds, we humans will each experience two thousand one hundred ‘one-million second’ long cycles. Again 11.5 days vs 31.6 years, not really numbers that can be directly compared with one and other. How much more so, are trillions (one thousand times one billion) or quadrillions (one thousand times one trillion) or quintillions (one thousand times one quadrillion).

All of this should be enough to make one think- “wow, we truly are insignificant” - and we are, t’is true. Yet G-d (Christ), the Almighty Creator of all this amazing vastness says that He *KNOWS* you personally - Isaiah 43:1; John 10:14-15; Jeremiah 1:5; Psalm 139:1-24; John 8:32. Did you know that? He knows everything single thing about every single one of us!

Is There Any Evidence That There Were Carnivores Before The Fall [Of Man]?

The answer to that question would be a resounding "NO". - Genesis 1:29 & 30 and Genesis 2:16:

Quoting – “And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:” - End Quote KJV. And Adman and Eve both knew this, and knew this very well, see Genesis 3:2 and 3:3. How can we be sure that Adam bothered to tell Eve, what the Lord God commanded of the man? Or how can we be sure that Eve really understood what the Lord God commanded of the man? Well consider how Genesis 3:2 opens: Quoting – “The woman answered the serpent, ‘We may eat from…’ ” – CJB, and – “…but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’” End Quote – NIV.

Taking into account Romans 5:12 & I Corinthians 15:21 – wherein we read that death entered the world by way of sin, and as sin had not yet happened pre-fall – “...by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin...” KJV – PLUS the fact that in Genesis 3:21 we read the – “Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them.” KJV – then given the dietary directives of Genesis 1:29 – 30 and 2:16, and the complimenting passages of Romans 5 and I Corinthians 15, plus Genesis 3 it seems safe to conclude that there were NO carnivorous creatures (no death) pre-fall! None.

There are those who argue that, as G-d (Christ) obviously killed some animal(s) in order to give Adam and Eve coverings Genesis 3:21, those carnivorous practices began there and then**. While this is certainly possible, the directive given to Noah and his family post flood – Genesis 9:2-4, clearly shows that G-d (Christ) did not, before then, give full sanction for the consumption of meat – (possibly not by human nor animal). At least not prior to the great flood of Noah's day.

Now in Genesis 9:2 we read – “...the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth...” KJV, and in Genesis 9:3 – “Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you...” KJV and then verse four we read the prohibition against raw meats with blood still in it.

So... Carnivorous (Man or beast):

Pre-fall – NO.

Between the fall and the flood – Maybe **?

Post flood – YES!

Does any of this really matter? In a salvific sense… “NO”. In the sense of challenging folk to look at what G-d’s (Christ’s) Holy Word, The Bible, actually does or does not say… perhaps. You decide. After reading cited texts first-hand for yourselves, you decide! Say, does this “Jesus stuff” give you gas? Does it leave you feeling unsettled, uncomfortable, and uneasy? Want answers?

** As man had already shown a tendency towards disobedience to G-d (Christ) with Adam's sin many argue, and I tend to agree that this is well within the realms of plausibility, that many did in fact consume flesh, and do so well before the flood. In other words predation was likely much more than just a random periodic occurrence, consider Cain and Abel - Genesis 4:1-16, but rather quite likely prevalent.

The HRM claim that one can only come to know Messiah by way of His Hebrew name - Yehsua EXCLUSIVELY - and many argue (also very arrogantly) that if one dares to call Him JESUS, one is a full-on, unsaved heretic...

The KJVonly-ism CULTISTS claim that one can only come to know Jesus by way of reading His Word, the Bible, in the - KJV version EXCLUSIVELY - and many argue (also very arrogantly) that if one dares to read about Him in anything but a KJVonly Bible, one is a full-on, unsaved heretic...

The RCC claim that one can only come to know Jesus by way of attending a - Roman Catholic Church (which typically also incorporates a virtual deification of mary) EXCLUSIVELY - and many argue (also very arrogantly) that if one dares to attend any non-Romanist church, one is a full-on, unsaved heretic...

The Five Books of Torah, have remained unchanged for 3,500 years.

The 24 Books of TaNaKh (which comprise the same written content as the 39 Books of the Christian Old Testament) have remained unchanged for c. ~ 2,500 years.

The Canon for the Writings of TaNaKh were decided, settled and very well established before the Roman Catholic church was even a twinkling in some archbishop’s eye.

And as has been said before, - “the four gospels and the [New Testament] letters were compiled in the 4th century.” - In fact the NT writings were penned well before the close of the 1st century A.D. And they were written by those who knew Christ personally, encountered Him personally, and / or were under the direct supervision of those who knew Him personally!

What Does The Qur’an Say About the Violent Subjugation of the non-Muslim?

In a recent discussion I had with a Muslim fellow about Islam being “all about peace”. Sura (Chapter in the Qur’an) 5 MA'IDAH (The Table Spread), verse 32 came up. Typical of the deceptive ways of Islam, the Muslim fellow quoted Sura 5:32 as follows:

“ "Whoever kills a person [unjustly]…it is as though he has killed all mankind. And whoever saves a life, it is as though he had saved all mankind" ”

But this is what the entirety of Sura 5:32 reads as:

Quoting – “Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land - it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one - it is as if he had saved mankind entirely. And our messengers had certainly come to them with clear proofs. Then indeed many of them, [even] after that, throughout the land, were transgressors.” – End Quote, Sahih International

First, Notice that the Muslim’s quoted version only contains Twenty-Eight (28) words, and “an escape clause”*, while the entire verse contains Seventy-Three (73) words, plus “an escape clause”*.

Second, that verse is clearly a direct commandment to the Children of Israel... see opening line! (plagiarized from Talmud) – “…decreed upon the Children of Israel…”.

Third, consider the “escape clause”* itself, both as found in Sura 5:32 – “...unless for a soul or for corruption...” and as written by the Muslim fellow “…[unjustly]…”.

* Let's pause right here, before we look at 5:32 in broader context to include verse 33, and focus for a moment just on that ‘escape clause’, whether phrased as contained in the full verse – “...unless for a soul or for corruption...” – or as Mr. NAME REDACTED said in his significantly shortened version of the verse – “…[unjustly]…”

I asked the Muslim fellow about his very misleading edited version of Sura 5:32, and I also asked him what his thoughts were on the point about Sura 5:32 being plagiarised from Talmud, and being directed to the Jews.

His reply:

NAME REDACTED – “Warren—do you not know who the children of Israel are? They're not talking about the modern-day Zionist state. They're (Sura 5:32) Talking About Jacob, whose name became Israel. He (Jacob) had Two Sons: Isaac And Ishmael. The sons of Isaac became Jews, the sons of Ishmael Arabs. Both Jews and Arabs are the children of Israel in that verse. And that verse can be interpreted to mean all of humanity. Your interpretation is narrow-minded, self-serving, and hateful. [sic]”

Notice his attempt to make Islam, part of Israel, and completely evade and avoid the issue(s) of context and meaning? I told the fellow that we’d come back to the issue of Ishmael being and Israeli, but that for now I wanted to talk about the “escape clause”. So, continuing I asked the Muslim fellow – “Could you please, Mr. NAME REDACTED, explain what you personally believe and understand ‘unless for a soul’ or ‘for corruption’ even means?”

Not surprisingly his replies at first were attempts to say – “I’ve already answered that” – or some such answer very similar to that.

Eventually he did respond to the question -

Quoting – “ "for a soul" = if someone kills you or a friend or loved one, you are allowed to retlaiate

"for corruption" = if there is a situation you think is unjust, you are allowed to use violence to try to fix it” – End Quote 2:27 pm

I must confess here that I still find it humorous, in a twisted sort of (Princess Bride - http://bit.ly/1lsjs86 and / or Jim Stafford’s Cow Patti song - http://bit.ly/1lsjNrj) kind of way, that someone actually wrote – “if someone kills you, you are allowed to retaliate”. Talk about believing in an AFTERLIFE! Ah, but I digress...

And then the excuses began, as this Muslim fellow set out to blame others for the evils seen in Islam, and evils done by Islam (much like the way both C.A.I.R.in the US and A.N.I.C in Australia do regularly) on everybody else:

“…I fall victim to that too…” 3:31 pm

and

“…I let you make me…” 3:40 pm

Now, having said all the above about the violent nature of Islam, we cannot lose sight of the fact that we have hope, an awesome hope, (as it is by and through His death that we as Christians are truly set free, II Timothy 1:10; Yeshayah 25:8; and Hebrews 2:14) and Resurrection (and yes, it is by His Resurrection that we as Christians have hope, I Corinthians 15:20; Romans 8:11 and I Peter 1:3, for new life in Christ. An awesome hope that is available to ALL of humankind Romans 10:9 and John 3:16-17. Isn’t that truly #RAD?!)

“No Jesus, NO peace” and yet, “Know Jesus, KNOW peace”

John 3:16 says: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

And John 14:6 says: “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

What The Christ was doing, c. ~ 2,000 years ago today

What Was The Christ Doing, c. ~ 2,000 Years Ago Today?

Do you know what the Bible says that Jesus Christ / Yeshua Ha Mashiach (Rabbi Yeshua bar Yosef) was doing some c. ~ 2,000 years ago this month, mid November 2015? Well not much at all really. Classic church traditional teaching is that Jesus was birthed in c. ~ 1 BC, would have experienced His now infamous preaching in Jerusalem at the age of twelve years, in c. ~ A.D. 12, commenced with His earthly Ministry in c. ~ A.D. 30, and was crucified, died, buried and Resurrected in c. ~ A.D. 33. But is a birth year of 1 BC reasonable in view of A) Matthew’s story as depicted in Matthew 2:16 – “And Herodus, when he saw that he was mocked by The Magi, was greatly enraged, and he sent and killed all the boys of Bethlehem and of all of its borders, from two years old and under, according to the time he had searched out from the Magi.” – (Aramaic Bible in Plain English); and B ) in view of what history tells us about Herod the Great, in specificity about the time of Herod’s death?

History tells us that Herod’s “Slaughter of the Innocents” (¹) (or “Massacre of the Innocents”) had to have occurred before 4 BC (or at least before c. ~ March of 4 BC), as that is when Herod the Great is said to have died. (²). If Christ was born anywhere from as recently as, the winter (January / February) of 4 BC to as long ago as the late summer or even fall (August through December) of 7 BC, Christ’s age at the time of Herod’s death would be anywhere from a few weeks old to a couple of months old (January / February 4 BC), to as much as 30 months (2 ½ years) at the time that Herod gave his heinous order. Let’s just pick 16 November 7 BC as an arbitrary date for Christ’s birth. (I do not care if you celebrate, as do I and my own family, the birth of our Lord on the date of December 25^th or not, as this is not about whether or not that date is fact or fiction. It really matters not either way, as the important issue is NOT the express specific date of His birth, rather it’s about the simple fact of His birth).

Using mid November 7 BC, this would place Christ at the bold young age of 20 years. Eight years post the Boy Jesus preaching at the Temple in Jerusalem. Thus some 2,000 years ago today, the young man Jesus, was very likely working with His (earthly) step-dad, Joseph as a Carpenter (³), in dad’s workshop or with dad, in dad’s place of employ (⁴). This 7 BC date presents some challenges to the traditional A.D. 30 commencement and A.D. 33 crucifixion dates, requiring that they be pushed back in to antiquity to something more along the lines of A.D. 24 commencement and A.D. 27 crucifixion dates.

And hereto as with His birth ‘date’, the exegetical, the foundational to the Christian faith and the central core issue, is not about whether or not those dates are, in fact, “fact” or “fiction”. It really matters not either way, as the important issue(s) here is / (are) NOT the express specific date of either His ministerial commencement or death (or even of His Resurrection), rather it’s about the simple facts of the events of His Ministry, Death and Resurrection!

But if it’s not exegetical, or even remotely important, why even talk about it? It’s a fascinating subject matter, that’s all. It’s interesting, and it is intriguing to muse over the fact that some eight years ago, we were 2,000 years post the Boy Jesus preaching at the Temple in Jerusalem! It is somehow exciting that in eight to ten more years, we will be 2,000 years post the commencement of the earthly Ministry of Jesus. And that in about a dozen or so years, should the Lord’s return tarry that long, we will be 2,000 years post His very crucifixion, death (as it is by and through His death that we as Christians are truly set free, II Timothy 1:10; Yeshayah 25:8; and Hebrews 2:14) and Resurrection (and yes, it is by His Resurrection that we as Christians have hope, I Corinthians 15:20; Romans 8:11 and I Peter 1:3, for new life in Christ. A hope that is available to ALL of humankind Romans 10:9 and John 3:16-17. Isn’t that truly #RAD?!)
