STELLAR POSTULATIONS

An amazing set of “stellar” postulations:

First: “AGE”
The known universe, caveat being the word “known”, is approximately 13 billion years old [http://www.astro.ucla.edu/~wright/age.html].

Second: “DISTANCE”
The farthest known star (Galaxy) “Abell 1835 IR1916” is approximately 13 billion light-years away from earth [http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/03/01/tech/main603096.shtml] same caveat being the word “known”.

And Third:
The original “Origin” occurred in, albeit oversimplified terms, the midst of a massive and also inexplicable sudden expansion, from an infinitesimally tiny fraction, of a fraction, of a fraction of a millimetre sized spec of pure raw energy.  Wherein two very remarkable things occurred, which eventually lead to “life as we now know it”:  A) In a somewhat (again perhaps oversimplified) similarly inexplicable way to the “Original” BANG (expansion), somehow somewhere along that early primordial time-line, pure energy randomly converted to “matter”; and B) somehow again across billions of years, inorganic bits N’ pieces of matter, randomly changed into organic (living) matter.

For now, let’s ignore the insurmountable odds against even a simple life-form randomly and successfully mutating into a higher more complex form of life, fully capable of pro-creating.  And rather let’s just focus on two (2) key bones of contention this Blogger has, one (1) the three points noted immediately below, and the other one (1) being the ever frustrating duplicity of standards between what Atheistic scientists would hold the creationists to and what the Atheistic scientists hold (or lack thereof) themselves to.

First the following three (3) points:

I Time (age of the universe) “13 billion years”,

II Distance (the distance between two known stellar objects, earth and Abell 1835 IR1916), “13 billion light-years” and

Science tells us I) is +/- 13 billion years, II) is +/- 13.billion light-years away, and science also tells us that III) may perhaps be 500 kilometres per second (313 miles per second) science also tells us that nothing may travel faster than the speed of light.  In fact according to science the speed at which stars (like our sun and Abell 1835 IR1916) are believed to travel at, amounts to a mere fraction of that of the speed of light. (300,000 kilometers per second / 186,000 miles per second)

Ergo if our wee little planet (Earth, by virtue of being in our Sun’s orbit) and Abell 1835 IR1916 were “created” at the very same moment, and had thus had been travelling apart for the past 13 billion years, then III must be at the very least be one-half (½) the speed of light (which incidentally is wildly faster than planetary or other stellar objects are in fact {believed to be} travelling, so these same Atheistic Stellar Scientists tell us).  As has been noted above some stellar objects may move as fast as 500 kilometres per second (313 miles per second), by contrast the speed of light is very nearly some 300,000 kilometres per second (186,000 miles per second).  The “fast” moving stellar object would therefore be travelling at  +/- One Six-Hundredth (1 / 600th) the speed of light.

If two objects are moving away from each other at 1 / 600 X (light-speed) it would take some 300 years for them to reach just one light-year apart.  Or using the belief that Abell 1835 IR1916 is presently some 13 billion light-years away from earth, at the speed of 1/600 X (light-speed), the two objects would have to have been travelling away from each other for 300 times 13 billion years = 3.9 TRILLION years, thus at least implying that the “known” Universe must be some 3.9 Trillion (3,900,000,000,000) years old.  Or, one (1) of the three (perhaps all three) of (I) (II) and (III) above, is incorrect and therefore open for adjustment(s).

Just in case all these billions and trillions types’ of numbers are as meaningless to most of you as they typically are to me, let me try to illustrate it thusly:

If we take three (3) points on graph, in a straight line, representing potential travel east to west or vice versa, and call them simply Point “A”, Point “B” and finally Point “C” (I know, I know ABC really original).  Let’s also say that the distance from Point “A” to Point “B” is 80 kilometres (50 miles) and that Point “B” to Point “C” is also 80 kilometres (50 miles), making by default the distance between Point “A” and Point “C” 160 kilometres (100 miles).  If one vehicle were to drive from Point “A” to Point “C” in just one hour, then logic would tell us that said vehicle would have to have been travelling at 160 kilometres per hour (100 miles per hour).

Question: If we started with two (2) vehicles, both at Point “B”, one facing east and the other facing west, and we wanted both cars to travel at the same speeds, how fast would they each have to travel in order to put a distance of 160 kilometres (100 miles) between the two cars? Answer: Each car would have to travel at 80 kilometres (50 miles) per hour (one-half the speed of one car travelling in one direction), because they are travelling in opposite directions (away) from each other, therefore covering only ½ the distance each.  So goes the same logic with the, pun intended, Astronomical numbers being used for our Universe’s ongoing expansion.

Second the Duplicity of standards by which the various Hypotheses are either held to or measured from.

It seems that Atheists show no shame in presenting ever increasingly “Astronomical” numbers, when it comes to theories about Origins.  Please also note that not only are the first two (2) items mentioned, from the outset of this Blog Age and Distance, stated in terms of “approximations” and “hypotheses”.  But upon a closer review of sources cited, the number of variables (estimates) used to build the foundations for just those two (2) numbers is likewise significant.  So what, you may ask?  Approximations are built upon variables and variable assumptions based upon Hypothesis.

With all those variables, built upon variables, modified by hypothesis on top of hypothesis it seems neither fair nor just that to the Atheist’s mind it is evidently absurd that a Christian believe in, (as the Atheists call them) “Fairy Tales”?  Fairy Tales such as Special Creation and a less than 10,000 year Creative Process (yep, the WHOLE universe, including the creation of Man and all the cosmos in less than 10,000 years old) give cause to no end of ribbing, mocking and scoffing of Christians by many an Atheist.

The Atheist’s say, “…an almost infinitely small point of raw pure energy suddenly began to expand…” (inexplicably is a word oft used), and the Atheist is fine with “we have no idea how or why it started to expand, we just KNOW it expanded.” And yet it’s the Christian Creationist who’s criticized, perhaps even ostracised, for believing that a purposeful God (Christ) started the whole process. God speaking: “I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.” [Isaiah 46:10 NIV]

The Atheist’s say, “…suddenly after _______ amount of time, inexplicably (as we do not know how or why) all this raw expanding energy began to change.  Some was converted into Matter, whilst other energy became Anti-Matter…”.  And again the Christian Creationist is criticized for articulating that God (Christ), with a plan in mind from the very beginning “created” both matter and energy.

14 And God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years, 15 and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.” And it was so. 16 God made two great lights—the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. 17 God set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth, 18 to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 And there was evening, and there was morning—the fourth day.” [Genesis 1:14 – 19 NIV]

The Atheist says, “…somehow although we don’t really know how (or can’t really explain how at least) first organic life sprang inexplicably from non-life, then secondly beginning with the simplest of life forms, the various species slowly over aeons began to mutate successfully into more and more complex forms of life, resulting in the crowning glory (to date) Mankind.”  And yet again, when the Christian proclaims “God created”, he / she is ostracized and mocked for allegedly perpetuating such a silly baseless myth.

20 And God said, “Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the vault of the sky.” 21 So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living thing with which the water teems and that moves about in it, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth.” 23 And there was evening, and there was morning—the fifth day.
 24 And God said, “Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals, each according to its kind.” And it was so. 25 God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.
    26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,[a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
 27 So God created mankind in his own image,
   in the image of God he created them;
   male and female he created them.
 28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”
    29 Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. 30 And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food.” And it was so.
    31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.
” [Genesis 1:20 – 31 NIV]

The scoffers and nay-Sayers are oh-so quick to query, “Ha!  And just HOW did your god create anything?”  And when said Christian replies “God (Christ) created by speaking His will with purpose and planned intent into being” the mocking and scoffing persists. “3 And God said, Let there be light; and there was light.” [Genesis 1:3 AMPLIFIED] [http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Genesis+1:3&version=AMP], see also verses 6, 9, 11, 14, 20, 24, 26, 28 and 29 (and that’s just the first chapter) where “…God said…” is recorded

Ponder, if you will this first line, of the first book of both the Jewish Torah and the Christian Bible “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Gen 1:1 NIV (in English some 10 simple words, in Hebrew there are just seven words... perhaps one word for each day of the creative week, from Day one through the Day of rest).  And for more on the Alpha & Omega, the Beginning and the End, or as it’s written in Hebrew “Aleph Tav” or “את”, check out my Blog “JESUS IN THE OLD TESTAMENT

So I ask you which is more absurd to say:

A) An Omniscient, Omnipotent, Purposeful and Loving creator God (Christ) set out to create? Or

B) Sudden inexplicable and random expansion, followed by pure raw energy transforming inexplicably to both Matter and Anti-Matter?  And those changes being followed by yet more random chance changes, many of which in complete and utter violation of two of the most provable Laws of Physics.  The First and Second LAWS of the physical sciences simply state that, effectively Matter can neither be created nor destroyed, only changed in its various form of usefulness, and that matter left to its own accord degrades into lesser and lesser useful forms or matter.

The notion that somehow, by some random happenstance, an immeasurably small spec of pure raw energy, first inexplicably began to expand, then second (also inexplicably) some, but NOT all, of the energy began to randomly change into matter.  (But not just Matter, Anti-Matter as well and as we all know from watching Star Trek’s good ole Mr. Scott, ya canne’ have the Matter / Anti-Matter chamber(s) breaking down.  The result would be CATASTROPHIC!)

The whole Atheistic notion is almost incomprehensible to me!  Why then are so many willing to throw their faith behind an ideology that seems to defy logic and reason, and does in fact defy both proven and provable laws of science?  Why indeed!  My best guess, ermmm sorry HYPOTHOSIS, is the inherent desire of man to be accountable to – NO ONE.  Deny God (Christ) no matter how absurd the alternative(s) may or may not be, and one need not grapple with moral codes, and certainly not answer to God… Pride it is, just as it was for that ancient serpent, when imperfection was found in him, and he said:

13 … “I will ascend to heaven;
I will raise my throne
   above the stars of God;
I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly,
   on the utmost heights of the sacred mountain.[a]
14 I will ascend above the tops of the clouds;
   I will make myself like the Most High.”
15 But you are brought down to the grave,
   to the depths of the pit.” [Isaiah 14:13 – 15, NIV]

Know Jesus, know peace whereas no Jesus, no peace”

How does one get to “know” Jesus?  Simple, invite Him into your heart, as Jesus says: “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.” [Revelations 3:20 NIV]  How can we be assured that this Jesus stuff means anything, well because the Bible tells us so, as the Apostle Paul wrote:

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” [Romans 10:9-10 NIV]

And for those of you who say to me, I can’t be bothered reading the Bible, “it’s confusing” or “it’s a waste of my time”, may I draw your attention to what the Bible says about wisdom: “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” [Proverbs 9:10]

If nothing else, PLEASE read two chapters from the Bible – (don’t own one, sorry NO excuse, if you’re reading this, you can access this: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John%203:16&version=NIV) John 3 and John 14!

John 3:16 says:  “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

And John 14:6 says: “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
