Incarnation to Resurrection
Incarnation to Resurrection roughly three and one-half
years, in 12 weeks, Sunday through Friday (six days) per week
Day Sixty-nine of Eighty-four:
As we wrap up this 10th week we’ll once
more reflect on this past week’s posts.
But again, before we even do that, let’s take a very quick journey back
across three more of the past nine weeks, and review some of those weekly
highlights!
Back in Week Four (January 28th - February
2nd) we read about some of we read about Jesus saying, “…go back
and tell John - the blind see, lame walk, lepers are cleansed, deaf hear, dead
are raised from the grave and wretched men of the earth learn that God is on
their side.” - Matthew 11:4-6; Luke 7:21-23 We also read
of Jesus speaking to false piety and arrogance as he denounced, by name, many
of the communities where His mighty works had already been shown.
Continuing into
Week Five (February 4th - 10th) we discovered Jesus
Sending Out the Twelve Apostles, wherein we read Jesus’ very clear instructions
to “Go
to the lost, the confused the hurting people right here in your own
neighborhoods.” - Matthew 10:5 - 15
We also got a glimpse of a profound story of Jesus healing the child
of a family, a religious leader’s family, a family which
was fairly well placed in society. - Mark 5:21 - 24 & Luke 8:40 - 42
Then as we moved
through Week Six (February 11 - 17) we covered Jesus Walking on
Water, as described from Mark’s perspective - Mark 6:45 - 52
as well as looking at how Jesus closed off His dialogue with one woman by
saying – “…O woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as
you desire.” And her daughter was healed instantly.” – Matthew 15:28
In the first part
of this week read the account, according to Matthew 21:12-17 & Mark
11:15-19, of “Jesus Cleansing the Temple.”. We also took a quick walk through another
look at the Parable of the “Marriage Feast” or “Great
Banquet” - Matthew 22:1 - 14 Then as this
week progressed forward we look at - Jesus Foretelling
the Destruction of the Temple. - Matthew 24:1-2 and then finally, just yesterday we
covered Jesus predictions of wars, and looming destruction, including the - “Destruction of
Jerusalem” - Luke 21:20 - 24.
From there we read that some Greeks showed up, and Jesus declared - “The hour has come
for the Son of Man to be glorified” - John 12:20 - 26
Which brings us
to, today’s readings. Beginning with Matthew
25:31 - 46, where we read of Jesus warning about the soon coming “The Final Judgment”. And we’ll wrap up this week’s reading John’s
exhortation that “Jesus Came to Save the World” - John 12:44-50
And that right
there ^ ^ ^ that, my friends, is…
GOOD NEWS!
We’ll leave reading the rest of the text for you individually.
I’ve taken the liberty of assembling a weekly chart of daily readings to cover the chronology

Shalom!
“No Jesus, NO peace” and yet, “Know Jesus, KNOW peace”
How does one get to “know” Jesus? Simple, invite Him into your heart, as Jesus
says: “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and
opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.” [Revelation 3:20 NIV]
How can be assured that this Jesus stuff means anything? Well because the Bible tells us so, as the
Apostle Paul wrote:
“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is
Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be
saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it
is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” [Romans 10:9-10 NIV]
And for those of you who say to me, I
can’t be bothered reading the Bible, “it’s confusing” or “it’s a waste of my
time”, may I draw your attention to what the Bible says about wisdom: “The fear
of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.”
[Proverbs 9:10 NIV]
If nothing else, PLEASE read two chapters
from the Bible – (don’t own one, sorry NO excuse, if you’re reading this, you
can access this: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John%203:16&version=NIV) John 3 and John
14!
John 3:16 says: “For God so loved the
world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not
perish but have eternal life.”
And John 14:6 says: “Jesus answered, “I am
the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through
me.”
