Incarnation to Resurrection, Day Fifty-three

Incarnation to Resurrection

#‎RAD #‎ATEND G-d (Christ) #‎IIC714

Incarnation to Resurrection roughly three and one-half years, in 12 weeks, Sunday through Friday (six days) per week

Day Fifty-three of Eighty-four:

Yesterday we reiterated Pilates’ query from nearly two millennia ago - “What is truth?” - John 18:38.  And today we’ll explore what in my view is one of the most powerful “I AM” declarations recorded in the entire Bible.  In John Chapter Eight, verse 58 we read the Words of Jesus saying - “…before Abraham was, ‘I AM’.”  Those two very small Words hold such a very powerful meaning because way back in Exodus Chapter Three, verse 14 G-d (Christ), the very Word of YHVH ( יְהֹוָה ) Yahweh, or more correctly pronounced, yeh-ho-vaw', our Elohim ( אֱלֹהִים ) pronounced el-o-heem', instructed Moses to - “…tell them [the Israelites]: 'The one who is called I AM / Hayah ( הָיָה ) pronounced haw-yaw, has sent me to you'.” [emphasis mine].  Did you catch that?  G-d told Moses - Tell them “I AM” sent me to you! - Exodus 3:14.  And Jesus the Christ / Yeshua Ha Mashiach (Rabbi Yeshua bar Yosef) said - “before Abraham was, ‘I AM’.” !

If we can pull nothing else from today’s text, please Lord G-d, open the eyes of the readers to see, Jesus said “before Abraham was, ‘I AM’.”  Amen.

If we can just take hold of that… that too right there ^ ^ ^ that, my friends, is… GOOD NEWS!

We’ll leave reading the rest of the text for you individually.

I’ve taken the liberty of assembling a weekly chart of daily readings to cover the chronology

“No Jesus, NO peace” and yet, “Know Jesus, KNOW peace”

How does one get to “know” Jesus?  Simple, invite Him into your heart, as Jesus says: “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.” [Revelation 3:20 NIV]  How can be assured that this Jesus stuff means anything?  Well because the Bible tells us so, as the Apostle Paul wrote:

“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” [Romans 10:9-10 NIV]

And for those of you who say to me, I can’t be bothered reading the Bible, “it’s confusing” or “it’s a waste of my time”, may I draw your attention to what the Bible says about wisdom: “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” [Proverbs 9:10 NIV]

If nothing else, PLEASE read two chapters from the Bible – (don’t own one, sorry NO excuse, if you’re reading this, you can access this: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John%203:16&version=NIV) John 3 and John 14!

John 3:16 says: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

And John 14:6 says: “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Incarnation to Resurrection, Day Fifty-two

Incarnation to Resurrection

#‎RAD #‎ATEND G-d (Christ) #‎IIC714

Incarnation to Resurrection roughly three and one-half years, in 12 weeks, Sunday through Friday (six days) per week

Day Fifty-two of Eighty-four:

Today is my eldest brothers’ birthday, he is 79.  Not that my brother Richard J. Innes, or his birthday has anything to do with the text from today, it’s just a shameless plug for my family. Today we finally read the text from Luke 11:2- 4, with the condensed version of The Lord’s Prayer that was first alluded to back on January 23rd in the “Day Seventeen” Blog.

Today we also read of Jesus testimony that He is “…the Light of the World.” - John 8:12 - 30.  And also of the profound truth that, for as tempting as lying may appear to be (to spare somone’s feelings, perhaps even our own), “The Truth [truly] Will Set You Free”, John 8:31 - 38.  Of course this just begs the very question that Jesus was asked, as we’ll read in a few more days, by Pontius Pilate, after Jesus said - “…for this purpose I have come into the world—to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.” and “…Pilate said to him, ‘What is truth’?” - John 18:37 - 38.  As strange as it may sound, Pilate asking Jesus - “What is truth?”

That… that too right there ^ ^ ^ that, my friends, is… GOOD NEWS!

We’ll leave reading the rest of the text for you individually.

Incarnation to Resurrection, Day Fifty

Incarnation to Resurrection

#‎RAD #‎ATEND G-d (Christ) #‎IIC714

Incarnation to Resurrection roughly three and one-half years, in 12 weeks, Sunday through Friday (six days) per week

Day Fifty of Eighty-four:

Even though today we’ll cover many events in Jesus’ Earthly Ministry, through the readings in Matthew, Luke and John, let’s consider just one highlight.  How many of us can relate, in our at-work lives, to Sally Lazy and Larry Sloth?  Neither of them ever spends even 30 seconds after the “work-day” is done, to tidy up.  That “quitting time bell” sounds, and they are off.  Gone like a Greyhound after a hair.  Very rarely are either “on-time” to begin work, and their breaks… good gawd they take liberties.  Seems that both Sally and Larry, are always grumbling, “oh woe is me, my spouse this, my parents that, or my kids”.

Oi vey, between sick / sickly kids, and spouses who appear to have more gambling, drinking and / or carousing problems than Carter had peanuts, there’s hardly a positive word, or constructive, and efficient action between them once a week, at work.  And the boss man, wow.  Whenever we bring up Larry, or Sally’s tardiness, and the fact that they get paid roughly the same as us, etc., the boss always has some excuses.  “You don’t know all the facts” he says.  “It’s complicated” he says. And the best one, “That’s really none of your business!”, it’s all just so infuriating, right?

Remember what Jesus said in Matthew 18:10 - 14, that - “If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go in search of the one that went astray?  And if he finds it, truly, I say to you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine that never went astray.” - verses 12 & 13, ESV.  The Message renders verse 13(ish) as “…doesn’t he make far more over it than over the ninety-nine who stay put?”  Our Lord and Saviour Jesus the Christ /Yeshua Ha Mashiach (Rabbi Yeshua bar Yosef) spells out something that Peter reaffirms in the Third Chapter of Second Peter, verse 9, that - “…it is not the will of my Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.” - Matthew 18:14, ESV

So yes, as frustrating as the Larry’s and Sally’s in our lives can be, #JesusBled4Them, and #JesusDied4Them also.  A couple of weeks ago, “Day Thirty-four”, the question was asked - “Does anyone need a doctor?”.  And a few days earlier, on “Day Thirty” we looked at Jesus statement, found in Matthew 9:12, - “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.” - ESV.  In fact, Jesus plainly said, according to Luke 5:32, as was highlighted back on “Day Twelve” that He did - “… not come that [He] may call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Once again, that… that too right there ^ ^ ^ that, my friends, is… GOOD NEWS!

We’ll leave reading the rest of the text for you individually.

Incarnation to Resurrection, Day Forty-eight

Incarnation to Resurrection

#‎RAD #‎ATEND G-d (Christ) #‎IIC714

Incarnation to Resurrection roughly three and one-half years, in 12 weeks, Sunday through Friday (six days) per week

Day Forty-eight of Eighty-four:

Even with the many, many miracles in Jesus’ Earthly Ministry, even with first-hand, eye witnesses being readily available, many folk still rejected Jesus - “Messiah rejected in Samaria” Luke 9:51 - 56.  Jesus said -Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.” Luke 9:57 - 62, verse 58 ESV  The colourful phraseology in the Message is intriguing - “Jesus was curt: ‘Are you ready to rough it? We’re not staying in the best inns, you know’.”  Do the simple Words of Jesus found in Luke 9:58, ESV, mean Jesus (G-d… The G-d of all creation) was homeless?  Do those simple Words mean, or even imply, that - Jesus puts His face firmly against modern day ‘Prosperity Gospel Teachers’?  I, for one, am not convinced of that.

Continuing, we read a stern warning from Jesus, in Matthew 18:7 - 9 & Mark 9:42 - 49, about the world’s lust for catering to the ongoing temptations to sin.

And once more, as alluded to yesterday, from Luke 9:49 & 50, we read of Jesus Words exhorting His followers, you, (I hope) and me, to basically relax, because - “Anyone Not Against Us Is for Us”, verse 40.

Once again, that… that too right there ^ ^ ^ that, my friends, is… GOOD NEWS!

We’ll leave reading the rest of the text for you individually.
