Incarnation to Resurrection
Incarnation to Resurrection roughly three and one-half
years, in 12 weeks, Sunday through Friday (six days) per week
Day Thirty-four of Eighty-four:
Today after we review this past week’s
posts, where we asked – “Does anyone need a doctor?” Jesus says – “Cheer up, son. I
forgive your sins.” – Matthew 9:1 –
3. And we talked
about how people to this very day still become, and remain, awestruck, amazed
and pleased that Jesus, through becoming G-d Incarnate, was authorized by G-d
to do such great exploits. And about the CO$Ts of following Jesus, on
Sunday. As we progressed through Monday
we saw how Matthew described the Pharisees reaction, depicted in classic Pious
Pharisaical fashion, to Jesus (this new ‘teacher’) dining, relaxing, even
reclining amid (gasp) “tax collectors and sinners”.
On Tuesday we got
an intro into Jesus Sending Out the Twelve Apostles where we read Jesus’ very clear instructions to “Go
to the lost, the confused the hurting people right here in your own
neighborhoods. And as Tuesday gave way to become Wednesday we read of Jesus
Healing a Man with a Demon, Mark 5:1 – 20 & Luke 8:26 – 35 and in turn sending the demon(s) (legion, for there
were many) into some pigs. Also, of Jesus’ teachings on having no fear,
and placing G-d before self - Matthew 10:26 –
33, where Jesus gently reminds us – ‘the day is coming when everything will be
out in the open, and everyone will know how things really are.’
And then most
recently, just yesterday, we reviewed the account the people tending the demon
possessed pigs, telling the story of Jesus’ mighty works in the town and around
the country. – Luke 8:36 – 39 Continuing we
read of Jesus’ explaining “The Purpose of Parables” – “Whenever someone has a ready heart for this, the insights and
understandings flow freely.” And from here we discover Jesus’ “Explanation about
the Parable of the Sower” where Jesus
said:
Which no brings us
to today, where we’ll explore another profound story of Jesus healing the child
of a family, a religious leader’s family, a family which was fairly well placed
in society, not unlike the story of the Centurion’s family we looked at back on
the 28th of January in the Blog titled “Incarnation
to Resurrection, Day Twenty-two”. This father’s name was Jairus. This account is in Mark 5:21 – 24, 35 – 43 & Luke 8:40 – 42, 49 – 54, and presents & reflects another man whose heart
and trust was in Jesus, in spite of numerous doubters. First we read that as Jesus was being
welcomed by a crowd, He was approached by a man named Jairus who was crying – Mark 5:21 – 24 & Luke 8:40 – 42 – “My daughter, just
12 years old, is dying… please help.”
Then later we read
of a seemingly very sad report from one of the servants from Jairus household –
“Your daughter has
died, why bother the Teacher anymore?” But Jesus was not moved and said to Jairus, “Do not fear, only
believe.” And with that, Jesus along with Peter and
James and John the brother of James approached Jairus’ home. As they approached the home of Jairus, Jesus
noticed a small crowd of people weeping, wailing land even gossiping loudly. Jesus rebuked them, asking – “Why make such a
fuss and weep? The child didn’t die, but is sleeping.” With that the
crowd which had gathered became incensed, they began to jeer and mock
Jesus. Jesus had the crowd dispersed,
and ushered them away. Then He went into
see the little girl, taking hold of the child’s hand, He told her, “Little
girl, I say to you, get up.” and immediately, the girl stood up and began to
walk around!
In the midst of
Jesus dealing with Jairus and his daughter, Jesus was approached in a dense
crowd of people by a woman with 12-year-long issue of blood health
problem. She managed to just touch the
hem of Jesus’ garment, and she was healed.
– Mark
5:24 – 34 & Luke 8:42 – 49
In today’s text, in Matthew, we now read of Jesus’ explanation of The Parable of the Weeds. And we get a review of point from an earlier Blog “Incarnation to Resurrection, Day Thirteen” about Jesus’ His rejection in Nazareth as accounted for by Matthew in Chapter 13:53 – 58.
Also in today’s
text in Matthew we read of Jesus’ teaching on The Parable of the
Net and here we read
of G-d’s holy angels will come out and separate the evil from the righteous. In
other words, G-d’s chosen people will be separated and set apart for G-d.
And that, that right
there ^ ^ ^ that, my friends, is… GOOD
NEWS!
We’ll leave reading the rest of the text for you individually.

“No Jesus, NO peace” and yet, “Know Jesus, KNOW peace”
How does one get to “know” Jesus? Simple, invite Him into your heart, as Jesus
says: “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and
opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.” [Revelation 3:20 NIV]
How can be assured that this Jesus stuff means anything? Well because the Bible tells us so, as the
Apostle Paul wrote:
“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is
Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be
saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it
is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” [Romans 10:9-10 NIV]
And for those of you who say to me, I
can’t be bothered reading the Bible, “it’s confusing” or “it’s a waste of my
time”, may I draw your attention to what the Bible says about wisdom: “The fear
of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is
understanding.” [Proverbs 9:10 NIV]
If nothing else, PLEASE read two chapters
from the Bible – (don’t own one, sorry NO excuse, if you’re reading this, you
can access this: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John%203:16&version=NIV) John 3 and John
14!
John 3:16 says: “For God so loved the
world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not
perish but have eternal life.”
And John 14:6 says: “Jesus answered, “I am
the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through
me.”
