Incarnation to Resurrection
Incarnation to Resurrection roughly three and one-half
years, in 12 weeks, Sunday through Friday (six days) per week
Day Forty-five of Eighty-four:
On Sunday of this week, Day One, Week Seven, we got a glimpse of a
teaser in Luke 9:21-22 about Jesus
foretelling His soon coming death. In today’s reading from both Matthew 16:21 - 23 and Mark 8:31 - 9:1, we learn a little more both about A) - Jesus’ soon
coming execution and B) - Jesus’ full knowledge, acceptance of, and very
intentional (prophesied from ancient times) plan of redemption for a lost
humankind.
We also get a
reiteration, from Matthew 16:24 - 28 today, about us placing Jesus in both the navigator’s
and the driver’s seats of our lives, that we first looked at yesterday from Luke 9:23 - 27. Today we’ll
close off with a look at a truly amazing depiction from two of the Gospel
accounts, Mark
9:2 - 13 and Luke 9:28 - 36, we’ll look at
Matthew 17 tomorrow, and perhaps reflect today on Jesus’ Words - “…They treated
‘this
Elijah’ like dirt, much like they will treat the Son of Man, who will,
according to Scripture, suffer terribly and be kicked around contemptibly.” ”, Mark 9:12 - 13, MSG (emphasis mine).
Finally, today let
us also pause and reflect on our Father G-d’s Words from Luke 9:35 - “…a voice came out of the cloud, saying, ‘This is My
Son, My Chosen One listen to Him!’
” - and let’s also consider those Words along with the Words from G-d the
Father Himself, found in Mark 1:9 - 11 & Luke 3:21, - regarding the “Baptism of Jesus” - mentioned in the “Day Eight, Sunday,
January 14th, 2018” Blog, where we
read these Words - “You are My Son, chosen and marked by My love, pride of
My life.” - as described
by Mark and Luke, in Chapters One and Three respectively. G-d the Father said:
“This is My Son,
You are My Son, chosen and marked by My love, the pride of My life, My Chosen
One listen to him!”, Mark 1:9 - 11,
Luke 3:21 & 9:34 - 35 Ooh wee that's
awesome!
Once again, although
the world does not understand this, that too right there ^ ^ ^ that, my friends, is… GOOD NEWS!
We’ll leave reading the rest of the text for you individually.

“No Jesus, NO peace” and yet, “Know Jesus, KNOW peace”
How does one get to “know” Jesus? Simple, invite Him into your heart, as Jesus
says: “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and
opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.” [Revelation 3:20 NIV]
How can be assured that this Jesus stuff means anything? Well because the Bible tells us so, as the
Apostle Paul wrote:
“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is
Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be
saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it
is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” [Romans 10:9-10 NIV]
And for those of you who say to me, I
can’t be bothered reading the Bible, “it’s confusing” or “it’s a waste of my
time”, may I draw your attention to what the Bible says about wisdom: “The fear
of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is
understanding.” [Proverbs 9:10 NIV]
If nothing else, PLEASE read two chapters
from the Bible – (don’t own one, sorry NO excuse, if you’re reading this, you
can access this: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John%203:16&version=NIV) John 3 and John
14!
John 3:16 says: “For God so loved the
world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not
perish but have eternal life.”
And John 14:6 says: “Jesus answered, “I am
the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through
me.”
