Incarnation to Resurrection
#RAD #ATEND G-d (Christ) #IIC714
Incarnation to Resurrection roughly three and one-half
years, in 12 weeks, Sunday through Friday (six days) per week
Day Sixteen of Eighty-four:
Today, we’ll talk a little about what it
means that Christ came to Fulfill the Law, and what He had to say about anger;
lust; murder; adultery; divorce and empty promises (“oaths”). Under the heading of “Fulfill the Law” we’ll
talk, in summary, about how Jesus’ birth, life, death Resurrection and promised
return (the ACTIONS of Jesus) Fulfilled, in its entirety, all of the
requirements of the Law. And how by His
actions (His obedience) we may know today (I John 5:13 / John 20:31) that we are set free. Not might be, hopefully one day, ‘set free’, IF we be ‘good enough’, but we are,
today, present tense, set free… IF we place our faith in Christ – “For as by the one
man's disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one
man's obedience the many will be made righteous.” – Romans 5:19, ESV Please refer to three older blogs about “The Just Shall
Live by Faith”, “Do Not Frustrate
The Grace Of G-D (Christ)” and how the
world will “Know [us] by…”
for a more in depth L@@K at what it means for Jesus to have Fulfilled the Law,
and for us to be, present tense, TODAY, ‘set free’.
In today’s reading we’ll review Jesus’ early teaching on murder, anger, lust, adultery and divorce, as well as making oaths or empty promises. Did you know that Jesus taught that a man was ‘guilty’, even if all he has done is think evil thoughts – Matthew 5:22. And that “But I tell you that everyone who looks upon a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” – Matthew 5:28 We close off today wit this thought from Matthew 5:37 – “Let what you say be simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything more than this comes from evil.”

“No Jesus, NO peace” and yet, “Know Jesus, KNOW peace”
How does one get to “know” Jesus? Simple, invite Him into your heart, as Jesus
says: “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and
opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.” [Revelation 3:20 NIV]
How can be assured that this Jesus stuff means anything? Well because the Bible tells us so, as the
Apostle Paul wrote:
“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is
Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be
saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it
is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” [Romans 10:9-10 NIV]
And for those of you who say to me, I
can’t be bothered reading the Bible, “it’s confusing” or “it’s a waste of my
time”, may I draw your attention to what the Bible says about wisdom: “The fear
of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is
understanding.” [Proverbs 9:10 NIV]
If nothing else, PLEASE read two chapters
from the Bible – (don’t own one, sorry NO excuse, if you’re reading this, you
can access this: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John%203:16&version=NIV) John 3 and John
14!
John 3:16 says: “For God so loved the
world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not
perish but have eternal life.”
And John 14:6 says: “Jesus answered, “I am
the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through
me.”
