Incarnation to Resurrection
#RAD #ATEND G-d (Christ) #IIC714
Incarnation to Resurrection roughly three and one-half
years, in 12 weeks, Sunday through Friday (six days) per week
Day Thirteen of Eighty-four:
Today, as we wrap up the Second Week of
our Twelve Week journey through THE Christmas story to THE Resurrection story,
we will explore Jesus’ teaching on Blasphemy Against the Holy Spirit, who His Jesus' Mother and Brothers are, a teaser for the Beatitudes even though this short list of just four (4) includes
the phrase – “Blessed are you, whenever men shall hate you…” – Luke 6:22, Aramaic Bible in Plain English,
whereas the list of nine (9) as found in Matthew 5:1-12 (which will be explored
more in depth next week) does not contain the phrase “Blessed are you when
people hate you”. We’ll also be reading
about Jesus’
Pronouncement of Woes, His teachings on
Love for Our
Enemies (which
compliments the earlier Beatitude teaser very well), and about Jesus’ teaching
on Judging
Others.
In this section of
text we’ll read of the value of Building Our Houses on the Rock of Jesus, and another one of my personal favourites – Recognizing [judging]
A Tree and Its Fruit. On this theme, of judging or knowing a tree
by its fruit, there is an interesting article, even if do say so myself, on Recognizing
or Knowing them [Christians]... "BY"... under the name “KNOW THEM BY...”. Though there
are many, many great things to talk about just from today’s reading, this one
seems to stand out. “…how many of us
(including myself) can clearly and accurately define just from the limited
[exposure to a single] image seen, which one [of three pictures] is the Crab
Apple, Apple or Cursed tree?”
We will later
cover some other passages which deal with this theme, but for now using just Luke 6:43-45 we’ll explore that we are exhorted to know a tree by its
fruit, which of course
brings us back “judging”, “judging righteously” and judging thoroughly and
fairly. If we view a tree, shrub,
flower, etc., outside of its ‘growing season’, how likely are we, or even an
Arborist, going to be capable of rightly judging the fruit? But I digress…
As we continue
through John, beginning with verse 18 of Chapter Five we read of Jesus’ Equality
with G-d, and continuing
with verses 19 to 29 of Jesus’ Authority. Additionally
as we proceed through John Chapter Five verses 30 through 47, we’ll read of the
numerous witnesses, or testimonies, to Jesus.
We’ll close this
Second Week off with two things:
First a review of the previous days readings, and then second, we’ll end with the text from John 4:26.
On Day One we read in Matthew and Luke, of John the Baptist preaching of the soon coming Messiah, and the promise of Messiah Baptizing His followers (adherents / believer in Messiah) with the Holy Ghost. We also read of the “Baptism of Jesus”; “Jesus’s Baptism in the Holy Ghost”; The bold declaration that “Jesus is G-d’s Son”; “The Temptation of Jesus”, “The Beginning of Jesus’ Ministry” and the “Calling of the First Disciples”. Continuing through Day Two we explored Jesus’ First Miracle, the ‘The Wedding Feast at Cana’ where Jesus transformed ‘Water to Wine’, John 2:1 – 12. In this section we see Jesus addressing his mother in what may seem odd, perplexing of even out-of-place, from our western world views of “Honouring one’s Father and Mother” – Deuteronomy 5:16 and Exodus 20:12.
On Day Three we considered the beginnings of Jesus’s Earthly Ministry, His rejection in Nazareth. Then as we moved forward into John we read of Jesus’s teaching on the need to Be Born Again, and how even John the Baptist Exalts Christ.

With Day Four
learned about the calling of Levi, the Tax Collector, Jesus being Lord of the
Sabbath, Fasting and of course about numerous healings by Jesus. We also learned that John the Baptist was “not the Christ…”.
Additionally, we explored the word “believes” as found in both John 3:36, and John 3:16,
the Greek
word used is pisteuó (πιστεύω) and literally means to “have faith in”; “trust
in”; and for us to be “entrusted” in G-d’s care. This is in
much the same way as a small child trusts in, believes in, and even has faith
in the fact that his / her mommy & daddy will feed, clothe and protect him
or her, just as our Heavenly Father, by the power of G-d the Holy Ghost has our
backs, and only wants good things for us, Matthew 7:11 b.
For Day Five we saw great crowds of people from, around Galilee, Judea, Jerusalem, Idumea and from beyond the Jordan also from around Tyre and Sidon, gathering and following Jesus. We read of people in Jesus’ day, first-hand saying – “You are the Son of God.” And of Jesus strictly ordering those early followers to “not to make Him known.” – Mark 3:11 & 12. We also read about the naming of the Twelve Apostles.

And finally, we read that Jesus was recognized as a prophet, and that Jesus, in his own Words, declares – “I am He” – John 4:26
And that, right
there ^ ^ ^ that, my friends, is
GOOD NEWS!
We’ll leave reading the rest of the text for you individually.

“No Jesus, NO peace” and yet, “Know Jesus, KNOW peace”
How does one get to “know” Jesus? Simple, invite Him into your heart, as Jesus
says: “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and
opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.” [Revelation 3:20 NIV]
How can be assured that this Jesus stuff means anything? Well because the Bible tells us so, as the
Apostle Paul wrote:
“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is
Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be
saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it
is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” [Romans 10:9-10 NIV]
And for those of you who say to me, I
can’t be bothered reading the Bible, “it’s confusing” or “it’s a waste of my
time”, may I draw your attention to what the Bible says about wisdom: “The fear
of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is
understanding.” [Proverbs 9:10 NIV]
If nothing else, PLEASE read two chapters
from the Bible – (don’t own one, sorry NO excuse, if you’re reading this, you
can access this: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John%203:16&version=NIV) John 3 and John
14!
John 3:16 says: “For God so loved the
world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not
perish but have eternal life.”
And John 14:6 says: “Jesus answered, “I am
the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through
me.”
