The HRM and their inherent dangers
Recently someone on Twitter asked me about a young
woman, @ThyServantYahu’s and her Tweet: https://twitter.com/ThyServantYahu/status/946900445955420160?s=09,
wherein she posted a YouTube video whose author claimed to have seen things in
the natural world which has her convinced standard Christian teaching is bull.
There is much more to our World and a Histoy that existed before the two floods. However we don’t know a lot. But as children of Yah we have to remember that our Elohim created everything and He wasn’t limited.https://t.co/Cl4R9DOLKS— ThyServantYahu (@ThyServantYahu) December 30, 2017
Right out the gate, looking at her profile, I’ve serious reservations just by her use of the words "Yahushua" & "Yah", and even her Twitter name YaHu... there's a 20th century movement called Hebrew Roots Movement (HRM), and though they're not nearly as evil & racist as the Black Hebrew Roots Movement (BHRM), the HRM are nonetheless dangerous. They are largely (though not exclusively) non-Hebrew peoples, who take on Hebrew-sounding names, and who use 20th century constructs of names for Messiah, in efforts to make themselves appear to be more godly, holy, and pious. One of the most common is to take Yah from Yahweh, and the Shua from Joshua, add an extra "u", and capitalize the first "h" to create:
Yah, becomes YaH
A "u" is added, and
The Shua tacked to the end, and…
and we get YaHuShua. Sounds reasonable... except,
there's never been a real Hebrew name like YaHuShua ever, in Jewish
history. It is a 20th century, wannabe
Jewish made up name. Dr. Michael Brown has
a couple of great messages on this. Dr.
Brown is a Messianic Jew who loves Jesus (Hebrew Yeshua). So, therein lies my first point of caution
over the young lady's views.
Second, is her reference to "two floods"....
Scripture speaks of one great Flood. Genesis 6, 7 & 8. The idea that II Peter 3, especially verses
5, 6 & 7 speak of some earlier flood, before Genesis Chapter One, verse two
is quite common amongst Old Earth Creationists.
They concoct stories of pre-Adamic races of people, dinosaurs, and all
manner of ancient life, from millions, even billions, of years ago. Life that was wiped out (died), buried and
fossilized, before Genesis Chapter One verse two.
*NOTE here that - such death and destruction - is a
clear violation of Romans 5:12 and II Corinthians 15:21
They use a very limited piece of text from II Peter
Chapter Two, especially verses 2 through 7 and Chapter Three, especially verses
5 through 7. It's commonly referred to
as 'the GAP theory' (although it can also be loosely referred to as either
"Theistic Evolution" and / or "Progressive Creation") and
postulates that the angelic rebellion inferred in II Peter 2:4, and the 'flood'
noted in II Peter 3:6 both refer to events that occurred, yet are not written
about, described, or otherwise mentioned between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis
1:2. In short "The GAP Theory"
is based on a few New Testament verses from II Peter Chapters Two and Three,
and hinges on one word found in verse two of Genesis Chapter One:
"The earth *WAS* without form and void, and
darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over
the face of the waters." - Gen. 1:2, ESV emphasis mine. The Hebrew word hayah ( הָיָה ) translated as
"was", can also be translated as 'became' or 'come to pass'. And,
just as many English words, it requires context to establish correct use. For example, the English words “wind’, “bow”,
“live”, “row”, “lead”, “light”, “saw” “right” and even “might” all require
context in order to ascertain the word(s) meaning(s). For example:
Did he turn the “light” on, before lifting the “light” weight alarm clock, so that he could “wind” it up for the night? We may never know. He was, after all, worried the howling of the “wind” would make his sleep restless, and thus that he “might” oversleep and miss the alarm. He was also very excited as he had seen a “live” squirrel earlier that day, which further enriched his decision to “live” where he has chosen. When he “saw” the squirrel and the “row” it was causing with his family as they laughed watching the squirrel gather acorns carefully laid out in a “row”, he knew “right” then and there that his decision to turn “right” and choose this locale, was perfect. Of course, it was easy to “lead” his family here, once he knew there was no risk of “lead” contamination. When arose the next day, he quickly gathered some materials to make a “bow”, which he later used to shoot a deer for food for his family. When he “saw” the way everyone enjoyed the venison he was indeed glad he had “saw” with which to cut the wood for the “bow”, and then he took a “bow”! All of this said to once more prove, ‘the pen has more “might” than the sword’. The point… CONTEXT matters.

The context of Genesis Chapter One, which presents a “Created
In Six Days” picture (supported by Exodus Chapters 20 and 31, verses 11 &
17 respectively) does not support the rendering of the Hebrew word hayah ( הָיָה
) as either 'became' or 'come to pass'.
Many in both the BHRM and HRM take the position that
Messiah absolutely is NOT G-d (denial of Christ’s deity is anti-Christ), and
still others hold the view that Messiah is the literal, physical result of
sexual copulation between G-d the Father and (wait for it…) goddess the mother,
the Ruach Hako'desh (G-d the Holy Ghost). The HRM and BHRM are both, filthy
bastardizations of G-d (Christ) and G-d’s Holy Word.
Apologies for the longwinded comment, but for the
reasons noted above, use of "Yah", "YaHuShua", "two
floods", I have strong reasons to be uber cautious about what this person,
@ThyServantYahu, presents.
Oh, and the classic rebuttal, of both the HRM and
BHRM, when challenged on the lack of Scriptural backing for their premise is to
ask, "are you saying G-d (Christ) could not have done this? Are you limiting G-d?"
The answer is a resounding - "This has nothing to
do with limiting what G-d can do. This
is about honouring what G-d's Holy Word plainly states. See the earlier *NOTE about Romans 5:12 and
II Corinthians 15:21.
Shalom!
“No Jesus, NO peace” and yet, “Know Jesus, KNOW peace”
How does one get to “know” Jesus? Simple, invite Him into your heart, as Jesus
says: “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and
opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.” [Revelation 3:20 NIV]
How can be assured that this Jesus stuff means anything? Well because the Bible tells us so, as the
Apostle Paul wrote:
“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is
Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be
saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it
is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” [Romans 10:9-10 NIV]
And for those of you who say to me, I
can’t be bothered reading the Bible, “it’s confusing” or “it’s a waste of my
time”, may I draw your attention to what the Bible says about wisdom: “The fear
of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is
understanding.” [Proverbs 9:10 NIV]
If nothing else, PLEASE read two chapters
from the Bible – (don’t own one, sorry NO excuse, if you’re reading this, you
can access this: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John%203:16&version=NIV) John 3 and John
14!
John 3:16 says: “For God so loved the
world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not
perish but have eternal life.”
And John 14:6 says: “Jesus answered, “I am
the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through
me.”
