Incarnation to Resurrection
#RAD #ATEND G-d (Christ) #IIC714
Incarnation to Resurrection roughly three and one-half
years, in 12 weeks, Sunday through Friday (six days) per week
Day Twelve of Eighty-four:
Today, once more we’ll begin with a review
of the Calling of
Levi, this is also
where we read these intriguing Words of Jesus – “I have not come
that I may call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”! As well as
reviews of, Fasting
and that Jesus
is Lord of the Sabbath, and on the
subject of the Sabbath, we’ll be looking at some additional texts today, in
John Chapter 5. Please also see, “Do Not Frustrate
The Grace Of G-d (Christ)” where we read –
‘The Sabbath was made on account and for the sake of man, not man for the
Sabbath’ - Mark 2:23-28 (AMP).
Today we’ll
explore Mark 3:7-12 where we’ll see great crowds of
people from, around Galilee, Judea, Jerusalem, Idumea and from beyond the
Jordan also from around Tyre and Sidon, gathering and following Jesus. We read of
people in Jesus’ day, first-hand saying – “You are the Son of
God.” And of Jesus strictly ordering them to “not to make Him
known.” – Mark 3:11
& 12. We’ll also read of the naming of the
Twelve Apostles:
1.
Simon
(Jesus later named him Peter, meaning “Rock”),
2.
James,
son of Zebedee,
3.
John,
brother of James (Jesus nicknamed the Zebedee brothers Boanerges, meaning “Sons
of Thunder”),
4.
Andrew,
5.
Philip,
6.
Bartholomew,
7.
Matthew (Levi),
8.
Thomas,
9.
James,
son of Alphaeus,
10.
Thaddaeus,
11.
Simon
the Canaanite,
12.
Judas
Iscariot (who betrayed him)
Of particular interest,
in my opinion, for today’s reading is the story of The Healing at the
Pool on the Sabbath, John
5:1-15. This is especially interesting
in view of the review of yesterday’s text that Jesus is Lord of
the Sabbath. In this passage we read that the Jewish
leaders (Pharisees? Saduccees? High Priests? Leachers of the Law?) “…said to
the man who had been healed, ‘It is the Sabbath, and it is not lawful for you
to take up your bed’.” and we also read of the healed man’s reply – “The man
who healed me, that man said to me, ‘Take up your bed, and walk’.” That man… the man who directed the lame man
at the pool to – ‘Take up your bed, and walk’ – that Man was Jesus!
In John Chapter
Four we read of Jesus Healing an Official's Son. Now this
Official was an Officer of the king’s court whose son was sick. From here, in short, we read that “…Jesus
said to him, ‘Go; your son will live.’ The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to
him…” And with that healing we read,
about this Official from the king’s court, that – “…he himself believed, and
all his household.”
And that, right
there ^ ^ ^ that, my friends, is
GOOD NEWS!
We’ll leave reading the rest of the text for you individually.

Shalom!
“No Jesus, NO peace” and yet, “Know Jesus, KNOW peace”
How does one get to “know” Jesus? Simple, invite Him into your heart, as Jesus
says: “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and
opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.” [Revelation 3:20 NIV]
How can be assured that this Jesus stuff means anything? Well because the Bible tells us so, as the
Apostle Paul wrote:
“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is
Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be
saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it
is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” [Romans 10:9-10 NIV]
And for those of you who say to me, I
can’t be bothered reading the Bible, “it’s confusing” or “it’s a waste of my
time”, may I draw your attention to what the Bible says about wisdom: “The fear
of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is
understanding.” [Proverbs 9:10 NIV]
If nothing else, PLEASE read two chapters
from the Bible – (don’t own one, sorry NO excuse, if you’re reading this, you
can access this: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John%203:16&version=NIV) John 3 and John
14!
John 3:16 says: “For God so loved the
world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not
perish but have eternal life.”
And John 14:6 says: “Jesus answered, “I am
the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through
me.”
